Bundle of Joy

Welcome Baby Ariana!
I was recently asked to create a baby shower card that incorporated the colors and theme of the new baby's nursery...pink, light green, and ladybugs!  The stamp set is by Hero Arts and called Adorable Baby Girl and I found the perfect card stock for the base -- a luxurious Flavours Gourmet in Lemon Grass!  So pretty!

I began the project by choosing several Spellbinders dies -- a large Circle, Lacey Circle and Labels 18.  These created a nice focal point for the baby carriage, which I paper pieced using Papertrey Ink patterned paper.  The large circle and banner, which is stamped with Lawn Fawn's Bannerific and Harold's ABCs, are made of a shimmery Curious Metallic card stock called Cryogen White.  I love this card stock for its heavy, rich feel and wonderful stampability!  That "airbrushed" antiqued look was achieved by leaving the white card stock inside the die after cutting and then using a sponge dauber and Distress Ink in Antique Linen, lightly dabbing the ink inside the circle's edge.

Curious Metallic card stock in Cryogen White...so shimmery!
The Lacey Circle focal point was adhered using foam tape to give it dimension on top of the patterned Labels 18 piece.  Before I  adhered the entire centerpiece to the pink card stock I marked its placement with pencil, then stamped a plethora of cute little ladybugs onto the card stock, and also onto some pink polka dotted paper.  I cut out the polka dotted bodies and adhered them to the ladybugs on the card stock.  I allowed some ladybugs to hang off the card stock and then trimmed them with scissors, giving the little ladies motion.
All the layers were put together and the card front was assembled!  The interior of the card has a 4" x 5.25" piece of that shimmery Curious Metallic card stock stamped with the sentiment "Cute as a Bug"!  Needless to say, the card was a hit with the auntie of the new baby who will present it to her sister at the baby shower next week.  This was a fun card to make using all the fun stamps and gorgeous card stock from CutCardstock.com.
