Halloween Party Invitation and Treats

Halloween Party Invitations
October 1st is here!  The countdown is on to my favorite crafty holiday!  I can't get enough orange and black... and purple... and green!  The fun Halloween images really inspire my craftiness.

For today's project, I wanted to show an easy panel invitation for Halloween, and some super cute treat containers for favors.

Supplies Used:
PopTones Cardstock in Orange Fizz, Whipped Cream, Sour Apple and Grape Jelly.
Stamps, tulle ribbon, and Black ink by Close to My Heart
Charcoal Baker's Twine by the Twinery
Scor-Tape
Halloween Treat Project

I have always thought that the sour-cream type containers are so cute for favors, but this is my first time giving them a try.  First, I cut the 8 1/2" x 11 cardstock to 8 1/2" x 6 and 8 1/2" x 5.  Then, I cut the 8 1/2" x 6 into two 4 1/4" x 6" pieces.   (I opted for the 6" length to make a longer treat container, you could always shorten if, if you want something smaller).  I set the 8 1/2 x 5 piece aside for the invitation.

Next, I stamped images onto the pieces of cardstock.

Then, I rolled the paper into a tube shape, securing on the seam with red line tape (or other strong adhesive).    Adhere one end of the roll together using strong adhesive.  Then, fill with treats.  Here's where the trick comes in: to seal the other end, pinch the end of your roll with the opposite sides together.  There will be a twist in your treat package when you do it correctly.  Secure with strong adhesive.

Finally, tie a bow using ribbon or tulle, secure sentiment, and viola!  Cute favors for a fun party!

For the invitation,  I cut my remaining 8 1/2" x 5" cardstock to 5" x 7" (A7) size.  Then, I printed my sentiment on 8 1/2 x 11 Whipped Cream Cardstock, keeping in mind that the sentiment should be smaller than the 5 x 7 panel.  (Mine was 6 1/2" x 4 1/2" when finished).   I  used a border punch to punch the spider web border.

Next I stamped the owl image next to the "Guess Whooo...." and stamped the spider web and spiders using a second generation stamping technique (ink your stamp, stamp off on scrap paper, then without re-inking the stamp, stamp onto your project for a lighter image).

I adhered the Whipped Cream cardstock to my Orange Fizz base.  I adhered a baker's twine bow to the top of the card using a glue dot.

Lastly, I tied black tulle ribbon around the invitation with a knot, and secured my stamped sentiment to the tulle knot using baker's twine.

Happy Stamping!

Katherine
