Holiday Countdown - Day 11

Today, guest designer Jenny joins us.....

I was so excited to use this fabulous solid cardstock.  There is such a variety to choose from!  The Muscletone Kraft Card Stock was amazingly sturdy, and was perfect to create a strong box for my stationary set.  The Metallic papers were perfect to give my cards a beautiful subtle shine, and the satin ribbon was a great finishing touch.
This project would be great for anybody!  Busy moms would be able to just grab a card or tag out of the box on their way to a party, and kids or grandparents would be able to easily add a beautiful tag, or card to any gift :)

Holiday Countdown - Day 9

Today we welcome guest designer Michelle.....

I got to play with some amazing cardstock and ribbon from CutCardStock.com and created some fun gift card holders to dress up your holiday gift card giving.  I loved working with the Kraft color Muscletone cardstock in the heavier weight, the thicker cardstock is perfect for making a small box for gift giving.  The green and metallic blue cardstocks embossed and scored well allowing for easy and beautiful cards.  The invitation bases are great for basic cards and more.  Use as is or alter into something more elegant by adding a few folds and a slit for a gift card.    The ribbon is amazing and can be used for so many things from basic wrapping to making flowers.

Holiday Countdown - Day 8

Guest Designer Alexia joins us today....

Using sentiments cut from the Cameo, Alexia created a subtle background that lays beneath the vellum.  Using Basis cardstock, she created the tree and embellished with sequins.  All of this is placed atop a blank white invitation from CutCardStock!

Kraft cardstock serves as a great base for this tag!  The detailed embossing looks wonderful and the tag is topped off with ribbon from CutCardStock.

This is my first exposure to using CutCardStock cardstocks and loved it, I like the thickness and quality of the cardstock compared to other brands of cardstock I have used so far. I think it makes perfect Christmas cards, tags and other holiday projects. The sequins are the latest trend in paper crafting so I used it on my card, not only it stacked up like a Christmas tree but also it serves as ornaments on the tree! I think the shine will catch anyone's attention!

Holiday Countdown - Day 7

Christine joining you today to share a quick and easy Christmas card made from the basic supplies of cardstock, a punch, sequins, and a black pen.

I created my card base from Brown Bag Kraft Cardstock and then added a layer of Basis Red 80 lb Cardstock and Basis White 110 lb Cardstock. I then simply punched out 9 triangles in Pop Tone Gumdrop Green Cardstock and put them together to create a tree.  Some faux stitching and sequins add just the right amount of decorations before topping the whole thing off with a pretty red bow (red sheer organza ribbon)and sticker sentiments!

Come back tomorrow for more holiday projects!

The fun white ribbon adds the perfect touch, you can expect the best from CutCardStock!
These were not difficult to make, simply cut 4 snowflakes from the beautiful CutCardStock Pop Tones Berrylicious paper, score each one in the middle, then place CCS Satin ribbon inside as you adhere each one.
Place a knot on the end and add your crystal and bow. After you finished add the amazing "snowy" glitter. I am sure you will see this ornament on my tree for years to come!

Holiday Countdown - Day 5

Hi everyone, Amber back today with a card I made using my current favorite combo from CutCardStock.... the white woodgrain cardstock and kraft cardstock.  I LOVE this combo, so I had to work it in to a not-so-Christmasy card.
I created the card base from Gmund Savanna Card Stock in white.  I added some of my super fun pattern paper with the Brown Bag Kraft for that natural look I was going for.  I had to throw in the snowflake button just for a little flair.  It holds down beautifully with the mini glue dots!
I really like the non-traditional colors, so it really speaks more to winter than just the holidays for me.  I think the woodgrain base just really brings out the authentic, organic look while the pinks and teals say "I like to break the rules".  I challenge you to create a card this season that will show someone you can step out of tradition!

Holiday Countdown - Day 4

Hey, everyone, it's Linda McClain again with just a real simple and fun holiday project - vintage Christmas gift tags. But first, are you having as much fun with this holiday countdown as I am? I'm loving all these projects and just honored to be among such talented paper crafters.

My favorite Christmas decorations are the ones that remind me of my Midwest childhood Christmas. Grandma Heaton got her decorations from the Ben Franklin Five and Dime on the city square (you may have to be over 50 to remember those). Ah, man, if we could only walk into one of those today and pick from their isles. Well, you might get something like these.

I found some wonderful vintage embellishments over at Etsy.com, added some mini Christmas trees from Fancy Pants Designs, a sweet stamp of a sled, a sentiment stamp, some seam binding for ribbon, and, of course, glitter. It wouldn't be vintage Christmas without tons of glitter.

The rich colors from the Flavours Gourmet collection were perfect for my tags. And mini glue dots made adding the embellishments a breeze.

That's it for me, but Amber has a fun project for you tomorrow. Hint: I didn't know CutCardStock.com carried a paper with an embossed woodgrain! Oh, more shopping for me.

It's a fun gift for the tea lover in your life or a fun decoration to hang out in your kitchen for the holidays.
The CutCardStock papers are so thick that this paper craft is sure to last many holidays!  And the lid comes off for easy refill!  Fill it up with your favorite tea or a holiday classic and try to hand it over to a dear loved one... though I would have issues with this because it's so super adorable!!

Holiday Countdown - Day 2

Good morning and thank  you for joining our Holiday Countdown!  It's Jamie with you today and I am sharing a fun Holiday gift that is perfect for those who love to bake!  This is my Brownie Box file but today I am using it to hold a box of Blueberry Muffins as well as a whisk!

The muffin mix is inside the large box space and the whisk is in the shorter side section!  For this box I used the Basis Red 80# Card Stock and the Basis Olive 80# Card Stock, the weight of this card stock is perfect for box making as well as for making paper bows!

Holiday Countdown - Day 1

Welcome to our holiday countdown series!  We hope to inspire you to add a little extra handmade touch to your holidays.  Join us each day between November 15th and November 26th as the Design Team and some special guests share our holiday inspiration.

For today, Amber here with a way to add a unique and personal touch to gift tags.

I printed a photo of the gift recipient on Savoy 100% cotton bright white cardstock.  I die cut it, along with a bit larger piece of Light Blue Basis cardstock.

I added a little space to write a name using a banner die, and then added a shimmery snowflake that was die cut from Curious Translucent in Pearl.  The mini glue dots worked perfectly to hold my snowflake in place!  Enjoy, and be sure to check back tomorrow and each day throughout this series to help countdown to the holidays!

Handmade Ornaments Make A Perfect Gift!

Hey there CutCardStock friends,

It's Pinky today just getting ready for the holiday season ahead.
Everyone is on a budget- well I know I am, but I love to give handmade gifts
so this year I am trying to go handmade all the way and this is a great start.

It is amazing what one person can do with 1 piece of high
quality CutCardStock and a little time.
Let me share with you how I created these handmade ornaments
perfect for the holiday season ahead!
  • Using Spellbinders Dies and Die Cut machine- (Frames and Accents) and the Basis Dark Red Cardstock from CutCardStock cut out 2 of each design.
  • Run dies back through machine for embossing.
  • Lightly brush each embossed frame using embossing pad catching the raised areas.
  • Sprinkle gold embossing powder over and shake off excess.

  • Heat emboss each tag.
  • Using the solid middles of each tag- stamp holiday sentiment onto each using embossing ink pad.
  • Sprinkle with gold embossing powder, shake off excess.
  • Heat emboss each stamped sentiment.

  • Run each frame and sentiment through sticker making machine.
  • Press firmly to remove any excess adhesive in the empty areas.
  • Adhere sentiments into frames as desired.
  • Press frames firmly together- creating a double sided ornament.
  • Attach ribbons to hang and crystal garland for added effect.

A beautiful handmade gift that anyone would love to have or just keep it for your tree.
I really hop you enjoyed my post today and I hope you will try making your own.
This is such a budget friendly project that just sings "handmade with love".

Until next time- Keep on Creating!
