Happy Holidays Card

'Tis the season Cut Card Stock enthusiasts! Its that time of year when more and more craft projects are possible because there are just so many things being GIVEN and DISPLAYED. Holiday gifts, cards, decor, its utterly amazing. I am so honored to be a part of this design team during this special time of year.

I thought I'd start out with a simple card that features red, green and white, the colors that we are all familiar with that sing holiday cheer.

What you'll need:

  • Stardream Metallic CS - Jupiter, Fairway
  • 80# Cougar A2 Folded Cards
  • Glue
  • Silver Glitter
  • Embellishments
  • Calligraphy pens
  • Stencils (optional)

I am always trying new things. Ways to acheive new shapes, etc. Punches are great, but I'm also lately experimenting with stencils. They are affordable and you can come up with some great fun patterns using them. Either color them in, add glue to the shape/outline and add glitter, etc. They are perfect for holiday decor and I can't wait to do more.

1.) I traced one of my stencils on the Jupiter Stardream Metallic strip that I'd trimmed for the white foldovers...

2.) Carefully adding glue inside the shapes, I then sprinkled with silver glitter... I think both gold or silver look nice, I just went with sliver to skew "cooler" in terms of the color.

3.) After the glitter is successfully applied, I place the trimmed strip on the left side of the white card...

4.) I then added a simple, but effective embellishment, slender Fairway and Jupiter strips to create a striped pattern.

5.) ...And that's it... Just add a few more embellishments that you already have to complete the card. I created the words Happy Holidays in calligraphy using the Sakura Pigma Black Calligraphy pen set from Cut Card stock. I had been waiting to try these and they did not disappoint! A very exaggerated beveled edge made the writing super easy and dynamic! Can't wait to play with these more!
