A7 Envelope Mini Album

Hello everyone!  Nicole here on the blog today.  I'm sharing a mini album I put together to gather inspirational quotes and notes I took from this past weekend.  The base of the album uses A7 envelopes and comes together super fast and easy.

Start by folding the envelope flaps back in the opposite direction.  Probably not totally necessary, but this little step helped me as I was going to keep everything straight.

With the flat non pocket side up fold the flap down and add adhesive to the glue side of the flap.
Insert the flap into another envelope and push all the way inside.

I hope I haven't confused anyone at this point. Continue with the flap of the new envelope by adding adhesive and placing into the next envelope.  From here you'll decide on how big you want your mini album to be and keep going until you've reached the thickness you want.  I did fourteen envelopes.
Notice that there is an extra envelope flap on the back.
Simply cut that off along the spine.

I used kraft chipboard in .022 thickness to create front and back covers.  The chipboard wasn't quite as thick as I wanted so I cut three pieces to size and glued them together.

I chose White - Basis Card Stock to cover the chipboard.  I cut the card stock leaving a little more than half an inch on all sides.  I notched the corners and then tightly glued and wrapped the cardstock around the chipboard for a nice clean finish.

I included a tie by adding seam binding around the envelopes and then adhered the covers to the front and back sandwiching the seam binding between the covers and the envelopes.

You could leave the little envelope mini like this, but what fun is that? ;)
I cut several elements from Basis Cardstock - Golden Green, Stardream Metallics - Fairway, and Cougar White.

I layered the card stock elements with a few journaling cards, sequins, gold mist, stickers, and wood veneer.

My finished mini:

I could see this mini album being used in a number of different ways:
  • a brag book for grandma/mom
  •  a vacation - slipping small memorabilia and brochures into the envelope pockets
  •  a recipe book - recipe cards in the pockets.
And you can even add in A7 cards to add more pages in between the envelopes.  Yeah the possibilities just keep going on.  I hope you enjoyed my project for today.
Thanks for stopping by the blog,

Happy Crafting, Nicole
