Holiday Countdown Series, Day 9

Hello and welcome to Day 9 of the Holiday Countdown Series!  It's Melanie and I'm excited to share my first post to the CutCardStock blog!  I love the gift-giving season and presenting personalized gifts to loved ones that they can cherish for years to come.

I created a diecut "Christmas 2015" Picture Frame Ornament to give as a keepsake and to hang on our Christmas tree this year.  I made the design via Cricut Design Space, which I'm including a link to my project below for all Cricut users to "make-it-now!"

Grab the materials to get started!  I used Kraft Chipboard (0.22 thickness) for the back two layers, Classic Crest Bright White Card Stock, Stardream Metallic Cardstock (Jupiter) and Polyester Satin Polka Dot Ribbon (Red-White).

The star of this project is the Stardream Metallic - the shimmery affects are perfect for Holiday accents and the heavyweight will ensure the finished project will last for years to come.

The ornament measures 4" x 4.5" with a photo insert that measures 3.25" x 2.5" (wallet size if printing at home).  Once you have the cuts, start adhering them together.  The two chipboard layers will have your picture insert - when gluing together, try to leave 1/8th of an inch available around the inside of the frame (and do not glue the top) so you can insert a picture.

Add the ribbon knotted at each end and insert your favorite picture.  A gift card fits nicely in the insert as well!

Thanks for stopping by and keep checking in for last minute holiday inspiration with our Holiday countdown!
