Shimmering Embossed Eggs

There are so many different ways to decorate Easter eggs.  I think the pretttiest and most elegant is the embossed egg.  I've actually never tried this in real life, but I've admired others' handiwork.  The raised images against a colored background on that perfectly shaped egg are so beautiful.  I decided to try this on a card using various colors of  Curious Metallic Cardstock.

To start, I chose swatches of Violette, Lime, Botanic, Red Lacquer, and Mandarin and cut those out using an egg-shaped die.

To prepare my eggs for embossing, I used a powder bag over the top of each to prevent any extra embossing powder from sticking.

I used a floral stamp from Hero Arts and Versamark Ink to stamp images onto the eggs.

I worked in batches and heat embossed the eggs with Wow Opaque Bright White embossing powder..  I love how the bright white embossing "pops" against those shimmery eggs!

I assembled a couple of different cards with Easter greetings making the eggs the focal point. For this card, I used a note card made from Curious Metallic Violette Cardstock along with a panel made from Cougar White Super Smooth Cardstock.

This card has the main notecard made from Cougar White Super Smooth Cardstock along with an embossed greeting on the Curious Metallic Violette Cardstock.

Here is a closer look at the gorgeous shimmer......

Thanks so much for joining me today.  Be sure to check out the Curious Metallic Cardstock on sale for the rest of this month.  Have a great day!
