Hooray! A new box of supplies from CutCardStock arrived this week and I was SO EXCITED!
Especially for the Gansai Tambi Watercolor Paint Set and the Zig Water Brushes. I didn't end up using the Micron Pens for this post, but they are one of my FAVORITE pens to sketch with, so I kept them in the photo. They will be featured in another post!
I've been trying to do some more painting, so when I was asked to design a moving announcement, I took advantage of the opportunity to try incorporating it into my concepts.
I love the watercolor brushes for lettering. The bristles on the tips are shorter and less likely to flair out, making them easier to control. These brushes also have a well that can filled with water. This provides increased control over the amount of water you are using, and also makes watercolor painting more portable!
For this project, I used the Medium Tip water brush for the lettering, as I tend to write large. For the florals and leaves, I used both the Medium and Detailer tips. I also enjoyed getting to know the Gansai paints. The colors were quite vibrant. I especially love the navy blue... It was the most marvelous hue! I didn't even have to mix it with anything - perfect as is!
After I painted the individual elements, I scanned them into my computer and created a composition in Photoshop.
Thanks for reading! XOXO, Erin @eringermandesign
