Silver Congrats Card - Part One

Do you ever make cards and not finish them? I'm notorious for doing that. Many times I leave them unfinished intentionally.  I like having lots of cards available to finish later so I can personalize them for the recipient and the occasion.  Later I'll go back, add an insert inside of the card, as well as a sentiment and any other decorations to personalize it.

To make this card, I used several intricate dies from Birch Press Designs. I found that using the Sizzix Precision Base Plate helps get a clean cut. Especially with more expensive card stock that is thicker or has a plastic coating to it. The glitter paper I used for this card has a plastic backing. It's a great feature because the paper holds up really well. But, I've had problems getting a clean cut with dies like these. What I mean is a cut that goes all the way through on every detail. Using the Precision Base Plate has helped with that issue.

For this card, I used Curious Metallic Ice Silver for the card base and the background die. For the inner circle, I used POW Silver Glitter Paper . For the sentiment, I used Stardream Metallic Silver for the background and Stardream Metallic Ruby for the word Congrats.

I love all the shimmer and shine of this card. The Curious Metallic Ice Silver is a great solid card stock for the base. The weight of the card stock ensures that the card stands up well. I also gravitate toward this card stock because it adds a subtle touch of elegance. A little something extra beyond the traditional white card stock I typically use.

Gold and silver card stock is on special until the end of the month. So you have a few days to stock up on these if you need them. This is part one of a two part post. In part two, I'll explain the card below on the right. Come back on July 30 to see that card up-close and personal.

Be sure to head over to the CutCardStock shop to see all the gold and silver card stock that's on sale this month.

Thanks so much for visiting.  Until next time. . . . inky hugs!!
