College Kids Go Back to School Too!

My son leaves tonight to head back to school to start his Junior year! It seems like we just dropped him off as a college freshman and now all of a sudden he's at the halfway mark of his undergrad career. Naturally being a cardmaker, I wanted to send him off with a card!

I gathered up cardstocks in his school colors of blues and whites. Stardream Metallics Lapis and Vista, and Malmero Perle White. This card is square, 5.5 x 5x5. I cut the card from the Lapis and then square panels in the White and Vista. I trimmed a Lapis scrap with zig zag scissors.

I grabbed some coordinating stickers from my stash along with complementary ink , washi tape, and a scrap from a dictionary page. I arranged all of these randomly on the white panel that I'd also edged with blue pigment ink.

Assembled my card and finished with three strands of black and white bakers twine and small black buttons. It's funny because when he was in high school, it seemed like getting to do these things was over. Once he went away to college however, he re-discovered that he liked having a mom who made things which of course makes me smile :)
