Quilt Block Card Gift Sets

Need a quick hostess gift, last minute birthday gift, or even a just because gift. These quilt cards are easy to make in sets.  Lisa M. here with with an adorable set of cards for gift giving.

I picked 5 colors of Pop-Tones Cardstock (which are on sale this month) that worked together for the cards. I used Cougar Super Smooth Cardstock for my card bases and the embossed layer.

I started by cutting two 3 1/2" squares of each color. Then I die cut each one using the Love Blooms Quilt Block Die from A Jillian Vance Designs. I cut 4 labels of each color from the Stitch Sentiment Trio Die Set. I also cut 3 1/4" squares of the Cougar Super Smooth Cardstock.

I start with the outside frame and glue a 3 1/4" square to the back. This gives me a place to attach the smaller pieces. This makes it easier to add foam squares to the back.

Next I add the inside frame and repeat for all the "blocks".

I spent a few minutes arranging the pieces so that each "block" had all the colors.  When I had them just the way I wanted them I glued the pieces in.  I find it is easier to add the glue to "quilt block"  then place the small pieces.

I used an embossing folder on a 5 1/4" x 4" piece of Cougar Super Smooth Cardstock to add in some texture.  I stamped a variety of sentiments (from A Jillian Vance Designs) on the stitched tags. Now I am ready to assemble the cards.

I attached the embossed paper to the card base with a tape runner.  I used foam tape to attach the quilt block to the front of the card.  On one card I attached the stamped sentiment with foam tape.

I am going to create a set of cards that the recipient can choose which sentiment to attach.  I will include a variety of sentiments and pieces of foam tape.  These would even make great prizes for a wedding shower.  I will be making more of these to put up.
