Hello Birdie Altered Canvas

Hello and welcome to the CutCardStock Blog! It's Gloria with you today. I had some fun altering a mini canvas to share. The birds are nesting and chirping each morning here in southern California! It makes me happy to live in a place where spring comes so early!
To pay tribute to all the sweet birds that live in my yard, I decided to create a little "Hello, Birdie" home decor piece. I decorated this little canvas with lots of layers and textures. It is always surprising to see how much you can pack onto such a small surface!
I pulled this 5" x 5" canvas out of my stash to use as my background.
I used die cut templates to cut shapes from paper and cardstock as follows:

Doily - Gmund Tindalo Kraft Wood Grain Cardstock
Feathers - Royal Sundance Linen Midnight Blue and Burgundy Cardstock
Flourish - Royal Sundance Linen Brilliant White Cardstock
Bird - Royal Sundance Linen Midnight Blue Cardstock
Tag and banner - We R Memory Keepers Wildflowers 6x6 Pad
I layered the shapes onto the canvas, gluing each layer in place. I used Foam Adhesive Squares to attach the bird to the left side of the canvas.
I glued the wood branch and the flowers onto the canvas with hot glue.
I die cut the script word from Royal Sundance Linen Brilliant White Cardstock and attached it to the top of the canvas. Two leaf-shaped pins finish off the project.
Thanks for looking!
