Winter's Delight

It's not too late to build a snowman. I always have the best intentions of getting my Christmas cards out before Christmas, but it doesn't always happen. Instead, I end up sending out winter greetings. These may just make it to the mailbox before Christmas. This quick and easy card in full of shimmer.

I am in love with the shimmer of the StarDream Metallic Cardstock. For this project I used Crystal, Antique Gold, Onyx, Lapis Lazuli, and Flame. I also used Mirrisparkle Glitter Cardstock in Sparkly Silver

I started by embossing the Onyx and Lapis Lazuli cardstock (cut into 4.25" x 5.5") with a snowflake folder.  I attached the embossed papers to an A2 cardfront.

I punched out 2.5", 2", and 1.5" circles from the Crystal cardstock.  Then I die cut a tree branch from Antique Gold and trimmed it down for the hands. The carrot I hand cut from Flame.

I attached all the circles and trimmed of the bottom of the snowman even with the card. Then I tore one edge of a small strip of Crystal for the snow on the ground.

I used Sizzix Thinlits Dies to die cut the words from the MirriSparkle Cardstock. I didn't quite have all the word forms I wanted. I was able to create them by cutting words apart. Snowflake became snow and tinsel became in.

Then I attached the nose, arms and words. I drew little half circles with a brown Pitt pen at the end of the twigs to make it look like I stuck them in the snowman.

I used Silver Stickles to create the dots for the "i"s in the words. I used Black Stickles for the snowman buttons, mouth, and eyes. I also added a few snowflake rhinestones to the card.

Now I have a few cards that are ready to send. I can't guarantee they will make it before Christmas, but they are on their way.

Wishing everyone a Very Merry Christmas.
