Encouragement Cards

Gold glitter is so glamorous. I am so excited to share my projects that are easy and incorporate a bit of such glamour. I used Silk Glitter Kings Crown Gold Cardstock for all four of my cards today, showing you different ways to add a gold glitter element. My favorite type of cards to make are encouragement cards for friends. It is wonderful to uplift a spirit that feels tired or stressed. I love sending good vibes to people who need the encouragement.

I started by taking the floral washi tape above and taping it to four sheets of cardstock that were cut down to size A2 (4.25" x 5.5"). I love using floral washi tapes because it gives me the illusion that I am a watercolor artist. :) Now, all I have to do is add sentiments. I glued the washi tape sheets to my folded A2 card bases. Let's take a look at the first two cards.

For this card, I added gold paint splatters over the washi. I die-cut the word sentiment "Good Vibes Only" from white foam sheet and the Silk Glitter Kings Crown Gold Cardstock. I mounted both over the base using multi medium matte (a strong white glue that dries clear).

For the next card, I simple die-cut the sentiment from Silk Glitter Kings Crown Gold Cardstock and glued that to the base. I decided not to add splatters or foam sheet. I do need more cards that are one-layer and can be easily mailed to international friends.

Using Silk Glitter Kings Crown Gold Cardstock as a frame is another great way to incorporate glitter into your project. For this card, I loved the floral images that showed up on my washi sheet so I decided to fussy cut it. I added black paint splatters to my card base and then mounted the cut image with foam tape. I die-cut the scallop frame from Silk Glitter Kings Crown Gold Cardstock and mounted that as well with foam tape. The sentiment was stamped with VersaMark Ink onto black cardstock and heat embossed with white embossing powder. I trimmed it down with my trimmer and mounted the sentiment over the image and frame.

For my last card, I added black paint splatters over the flora images. I stamped the sentiment in the same manner as the last card. However, I decided that I would add a simple strip of Silk Glitter Kings Crown Gold Cardstock and tape it below the sentiment. It's subtle but coordinates really well with the design of the card.

I hope you enjoyed my basic tips on how to incorporate some glamour in your projects. If you have any questions about my work, I'd love for you to leave a comment below!
