Ink Smooshing Autumn Leaf Card

Hello my dear crafty friends! It's Lia here at the blog today. I'd like to show you a cool technique called "ink smooshing" to make an autumn leaf.

First put some distress ink on to a plastic board. You may use acetate paper as well. The colors I picked were festive berry, twisted citron and mustard seed.

Then sprinkle some water to the ink to help them blend later.

Use the Savoy 100% Cotton Card stock to tap and slide against the ink. The 100% cotton nature of this cardstock makes it a great choice for ink smooshing, as the cardstock absorbs and holds water and hence makes the blending smooth. I also tried it on other smooth cardstock with much less satisfactory results.

After the ink dries, die cut the leaf.

For the background, Stardream Metallic fine gold cardstock was used with an intricate background die to represent the golden autumn. A "thanks" sentiment was also die cut with the Pop-tone black licorice 65lb cardstock

Assemble all the pieces together makes this thank you card.

Thank you for stopping by. Please check CutCardStock on Facebook to get updates on sales and inspirations from the design team. And don't forget that all Gold, Orange and Brown cardstocks are on sale this month. Happy crafting~

Cheers,
Lia
