Happy Halloween... or Merry Christmas?

Happy Halloween everyone! While most of you have been thinking about ghosts and ghouls over the past few weeks, I'm already knee deep in holiday work. Custom Christmas and holiday card orders are coming in hot! And I love that people are so on the ball that they get their orders placed in October!

My first card order just came back from the printer. I'm so excited because my printer is able to print my cards at a larger A9 size this year (5.5 x 8.5) rather than the standard A7 (5 x 7) size - for the same price! I hope that this little detail will help my cards stand out from the rest. As usual, all of my cards are printed on the Classic Crest 130# Cover Stock in Solar White.

This family has been my client for several years, and I look forward to seeing their photos, especially since this family lives out of town. One of the greatest joys of designing holiday cards is seeing all the beautiful families, and especially the kids, who grow and change so much each year.

For this design, I created the "joy" lettering in the Procreate App on the iPad with the Apple pencil. I just recently discovered this new form of hand-lettering, and it's remarkable how fun and efficient it is, especially at this very busy time of year. This client also loves rounded corners, another little detail that adds so much to a card design.

And envelopes - we cannot forget the envelopes! Such an important component that can make your card stand out from the crowd in a mailbox full of cards! For this card, there was a lovely rusty, rosy red in the plaid of one of boys' shorts. I found the perfect match in the Stardream Metallic Envelope in Mars. Yay! I'm thrilled with the way these look together.

Hope you all have a fun and safe Halloween! And... Merry Christmas?
XOXO, Erin @eringermandesign
