Retail Therapy

I've been experimenting with fun color combinations lately after taking a color theory class.   I love using navy cardstock, so for today's project I paired the rich, dark Royal Sundance Midnight Blue linen cardstock with Neenah Environment Desert Storm cardstock.  I added a peek of Basis Light Lime for interest.

I started off by stamping 3 little building stamps with Versamark ink onto the Neenah using my stamp platform.

I heat embossed the images in white and then placed my buildings on the panel to line up the sentiment which I also heat embossed in white.

After popping up the buildings with foam squares, I added a layer of the lime cardstock underneath the navy panel and adhered the whole thing to a note card I made from Cougar White Super Smooth cardstock. Very clean and simple.

I wanted to create a little gift card pocket for the inside, so I took some Curious Translucent Clear Vellum and scored it using the length of a gift card I had on hand as a guide, leaving little flaps on either side.

I trimmed off the excess so the vellum could be folded up to cover the gift card on both sides.

Using my scissors, I trimmed off the flaps on one side of the vellum so the other flaps could be folded in.  I added some strong tape to each flap and then folded over the side without the flaps to adhere everything together.

I added a cute sentiment I stamped on some more Cougar Super Smooth and slipped the gift card in.  The vellum is great for pockets because it's nice and thick.

Royal Sundance cardstock is on sale this month at the shop so be sure to head over to see all the different color and texture options.  Thanks so much for joining me today!
