I Am So Lucky To Have You

Hello friends! Today I’m sharing a card I made for my mother-in-law. She does so much for my family, so dropping random cards in the mail every couple of weeks is one small way that I can say thank you. 

Her favorite color is purple, so I always incorporate that color into all her cards. I used all Altenew products for this card, and of course cardstock from CutCardStock.com. 

My first step was making a background. I added double-sided adhesive to the back of a 4.25 x 5.5-inch size Neenah Solar White Classic Crest 80 lb cardstock. I used Altenew Dodec cover die to die-cut the paper in my Big Shot diecut machine. Then, I used a paper poker and a Sizzix Bristle Brush to help remove all the intricate pieces. 

Once I was finished, I took off the adhesive backing and added the diecut on another 4.25 x 5.5-inch Neenah White panel. (I love white on white!) 

Next, I built a flower using Altenew’s Peony Dream 3D die set. I started with Discount Cardstock Medium Purple, then picked coordinating purples for the layers. 

I did not have a really light purple for the top layer, so I diecut Neenah white paper and used BV0000 Copic marker to color it. I used liquid glue to attach everything together. 

I used Altenew Wreath Builder to add more texture to the card. I cut the ring out with Neenah Desert Storm cardstock, and the branches with Neenah Solar White. Then I used Espresso Distress Oxide ink to add some texture to the ring, and Copic Markers to color in the branches. 

I also die cut and Copic colored leaves from the Build A Flower die set. 

To put the card front together, I first glued the branches and leaves to the back of the flower and glued the flower to the wreath ring. I stamped a sentiment from Altenew’s Dearest Friend set onto Black Licorice Cardstock with embossing ink, then heat embossed using White Embossing Powder. 

I cut the sentiment down to a thin strip and glued it to the back of the flower. I used Darice 3D Foam to attach the wreath to the card front, and Scor-Tape to add the card-front to an A2 size Neenah Solar White 110 lb card base. 

I love how this card turned out. I also love being able to color on white cardstock to make perfect colors for my die cuts.
