Sympathy Card in White and Twine

Hello, everyone. Samantha here. Sympathy cards are definitely not my favorite cards to make or give. However, during a time of grief and sadness, it is good to be able to give a little bit of comfort in the form of a card.

Since death is both inevitable and unpredictable these are good cards to have on hand. I find that for myself it's easier to have them ready before I need them lest I be too overtaken by sadness to make one.

For this card you will need:

Begin by creating an A2 sized (5.5" x 4.25") card base from your Twine cardstock.

On the other 4.25" x 11" piece of Twine cardstock stamp the Daisie Background stamp with Versamark Watermark ink. Heat emboss with white embossing powder.

Cut the stamped and embossed Twine cardstock down to 3 7/8" x 5 3/8". Cut the Basis cardstock down to 4" x 5.25".  Adhere the Twine cardstock to the Basis cardstock.

Cut your vellum to 6.25" x 3.5". On the 6.25" side score at .5" and 5.75". Fold on score lines. Apply Score Tape to the insides of both .5" flaps.

Remove Score Tape from one flap and attach to one end of the card panel. Do not attach the other flap yet.

Using the You Are Loved die, die cut two images, one from the Twine cardstock and one from the Basis cardstock.

Adhere the Basis die cut.

Glue the Twine die cut over the Basis die cut slightly to the right. This will give you a beautiful white shadow and will help the die cut stand out.

Stamp a sentiment from The Hedgehog Hollow's Sweet Sentiments stamp set onto the Twine cardstock using Versamark Watermark ink. Heat emboss with white embossing powder.

Cut the heat embossed sentiment down into a strip and glue below the die cut.

Attach a few clear gems.

Flip the vellum up and apply the adhesive of your choice behind the die cut, the gems, and the sentiment strip. Fold the vellum forward and press into place.

Remove the backing from the Score Tape on the other .5" flap of the vellum and fold onto the back of the panel.

Attach the panel to your card base.

That's it. I hope that you'll be inspired to make a similar card of your own. I also think that this card would be beautiful for many other occasions as well.

I hope that you'll have a fantastic day. Make sure you stop back soon.

    Until next time,
     Samantha
