Astrobright Note Cards & Envelopes

Astrobright Folded A-2 Note Cards & Matching Envelopes can be found at
These bright cards and envelopes will get noticed when used in creating your personalized cards.

Sarah Early from Charleston, South Carolina of DODELINE DESIGNS created some Cards using the Astrobrights.  Here is a Bright Card that she calls LAZY SUMMER.  She created it from Astrobright Stardust White Cardstock.  The Stardust White is a White with multi colored flecks throughout.  It is a popular choice amount CutCardStock Customers.

Sarah did a little write up of how she created this card:
"Lazy Summer

This design celebrates summer, doodles, and all things handmade! Here’s how it was done:
- I started by finding an image online of a butterfly in the pose I wanted.
- I printed it out, cut it out, and then traced it onto a tab divider I had that had a really neat print. You could of course use pattern paper as well, but I liked the shine & thickness of the tab divider.
- I then purchased two packs of stickers (Making Memories) and used them to create a really fun, girly composition. Don’t stress about it, the whole idea of this was to be very free and unstructured, like the lovely long days of summer!

P.S. Don’t forget about the inside of the card – for this design, I again wanted to have a very handmade look, so I just penciled in a nice design, traced it with my favorite black pen, and added a few cute flowers to create a really nice card."

Sarah is very talented and we are grateful that she did these cards using our products.  Here is an excerpt we took from her profile at  Stationery by Dodeline Design

"I am a born & raised Charlestonian with a passion for all things design. I am happiest when I'm busiest with projects I love -- which could be many old furniture, designing a website, making cards, you name it!

It all started with a scrapbook kit my mom gave me when I was 12 years old -- combine that with my totally do-it-yourself upbringing, and that's how I got where I am today!

...dodeline? what does that mean?...

Well, since I'm a big French buff, "dodeline" comes from a French word, "dodeliner," which means "to sway." I loved the sound of the word, and it immediately gave me this image of dandelions swaying in the wind on a spring day. I also liked the idea of going with the flow & seeing where life takes me.

Wondering how to say it? That's okay, it's:

...favorite things...

I always think you can tell a lot about a person by their favorite are some of mine:

- Clean sheets
- The smell of old books
- Wearing new shoes for the first time!
- Warm paper right out of the copier
- Walking on the beach
- Sky rides
- The smell of a Christmas tree
- Candles
- 19th century literature...Jane Austen, anyone?
- Anything, architecture, language, etc.
- the Georgia Bulldogs"

Cards created using CURIOUS METALLICS

We would like to introduce you to Heidi Boudouris from Pana, Illinois.
Heidi writes the following about herself: "  I am a stay-at-home Mom of 4 beautiful girls. I sure have my hands full, but they are wonderful! My husband is a high school teacher and basketball coach."
Heidi created these great looking cards and tag using Curious Metallic CardStock from  We have many new colors in the Curious Metallic line and you will get to see how nice they look in the cards designed by Heidi.  She also included a little write up about the cards she created.

Pumpkin card:
First I cut the Curious Metallic WHITE GOLD 92 # cardstock in half to make an 8 ½ by 5 ½ inch card.  I scored the card in half longways to create a perfect fold.  Then folded the card in half.
Secondly I cut the Mandarin Curious Metallic 80# text paper to 4 by 5 ¼ inches.   I then stamped the mandarin paper with leaves (using the Fall Whimsy stamp set from Stampin Up!) using an olive colored ink.
Next I stamped a pumpkin (from the Fall Whimsy stamp set) onto Curious Metallic WHITE GOLD 92 # cardstock using orange and olive colored inks.  I then cut that cardstock to 2 ¾ by 1 7/8 inches.
I adhered the pumpkin stamped cardstock to a piece of mandarin 80# text at a size of 3 by 2 1/8 inches.
Finally, I adhered that piece to a piece of white gold 92 # cardstock at a size of 3 ¼ by 2 3/8 inches.

Flower Tag:
First I cut a piece of Curious Metallic LIME 111# Card Stock, on a cricut machine, in the shape of a tag that is 3 ½ inches tall (shadowed).  Then I cut a piece of Ice Gold Curious Metallic 92 # Cover, on a cricut machine, in the shape of a tag that is 3 ½ inches tall.
I then adhered the two tags together.  I then cut a flower, on the cricut, using Mandarin Curious Metallic 111# cover paper.  I put a silver brad in the center of the flower.  Next, I cut out two leaves on the Curious Metallic LIME 111# cover paper and adhered to the tag.  I drew “stitching” around the leaves, flower and edge of the tag.
Finally, I cut a piece of ribbon and tied it to the tag.

Watermelon Card:
First I cut a piece of Curious Metallic LIME 111# Cover paper in half to make the paper 8 ½ by 5 ½ inches.  I them scored the paper in half longways and folded to make a perfect card.
I cut a piece of Ice Gold Curious Metallic 92# cover to 4 by 5 ¼ inches.  I cut the corners with a “ticket” style paper cutter.
Then I cut out the base of the watermelons, on the cricut machine,  in Curious Metallic LIME 111 # Cover paper.  I  cut out the center of the watermelon in Curious Metallic RED LACQUER 111# Cover paper.  I punched holes in the watermelon centers with a hole punch and added black eyelets to look like seeds.  I glued all the pieces together and then adhered to the card.  I then cut out the word “summer” in the Red Lacquer 111# Cover paper on the cricut machine.  I adhered the word to the card.
Finally, I drew “stitching around the inside of the watermelon and the edge of the card.
