Hug a Tree Birthday Card from Amber Lawrence
- Brown Bag Kraft , cut to 5 ¼ x 4 plus scrap strip for sentiment
- 2 coordinating pieces of patterned paper, cut to mat your sentiment piece
- Sewing machine with thread that matches your project
- Adhesives, including dimensional
- Sentiment stamp and ink
- Embossing folder and machine (I'm using Tim Holtz's Woodgrain set with my Sizzix Big Shot)
Emboss the Brown Bag Kraft piece to give it a great wood grain texture. This is a quick and easy way to make a card masculine!
Attach your wood grain texture piece to the card front.
Stamp sentiment on the scrap of Kraft. Trim it to the size you want and sew around the edges with your machine. You can always use a faux sewing technique if you don’t have a sewing machine handy. When I sew on my paper crafts, I try to always pull the threads through to the back of the project and hand tie a knot. This will help to keep the stitches from coming undone.
Mat the sentiment on the coordinating patterned paper and attach it to the front of the card. To make it pop a little, use dimensional adhesive.
