First I created the background that will fit in my frame. I cut the camping themed paper to 9 x 9.
Then I created my photo mat by cutting two nested sizes of cardstock from the Orange Fizz and Kraft cardstock.
To add a little detail and pop of color, I added a punched photo corner to one corner of my photo mat and then added a little banner strip to another corner from the Lagoon metallic cardstock.
Tip: An easy way to create the banner strip is to cut a long rectangle from cardstock, then use your square punch to create a perfect "tail" cutout.
Sometimes with scrapbooking, it can feel overwhelming to take on an entire album. This project is to show you that it's quick and easy, and not overwhelming at all, to create memory preserving projects.... not just big albums. I was able to use wonderful paper and cardstock, play with some of the tools I own and my son has a great frame to keep on his dresser and remind him of Summer camp.
If you've got a stack of scrapbooking paper you've collected, I encourage you to pull it out and start making little scrapbooks, like photo cards, picture frames, etc. A great accessory is an assortment pack of cardstock such as the PopTones Sample pack , Flavors Gourmet or a Metallic Sampler. These assortments offer a great variety of colors to compliment patterned paper to make your projects come to life!
We're going to be camping next month. Can anyone give me tips on things you would normally forget to pack so I'm well prepared. There's going to be water parks, and rides, plus the traditional camping stuff like fishing. We're going to be staying in tents, not a cabin or RV so we won't be needing any kitchen stuff I don't think. Any ideas would be great, thanks!
ReplyDeleteHere are a few must items on my camping checklist: sunscreen, bugspray, first aid kit (especially bandaids), citronella candles, extra snacks that pack well like granola bars and nuts, oh and don't forget the stuff to make S'mores!
