Happy Spring (officially) everyone. Carol here with another Spring time birthday card. I'm not much of a gardener, but I love using florals in my card making. I had a piece of floral and fern patterned paper in my stash that inspired this card using Curious Metallics lime and burgundy linen cardstock from CutCardstock.com.
I chose some colors inspired by my floral paper along with some coordinating scrapbooking embellishments I had on hand ( self adhesive scrapbook borders and paper flowers) and decided to use the Curious Metallics Lime cardstock as my card base. I trimmed it to 10x7 so when folded it would be a 5x7 card.
I like to use a scoring board and a "bone" folder to make really good scores and creases for my cards. Score your card down the middle using the pointy end , fold then run the square end down along the fold to make a good crease.
Cut the burgundy cardstock to 4.75x6.75 and the patterned paper to 4.5x6.5 and layer. Cut another piece of the patterned paper to 3x3 and another piece of the burgundy to 2.75x2.75 and layer as shown. I hate wasting paper so I took the scraps of the lime paper after making my card, and trimmed them as shown to use in my card.
Trimmed one of the scrapbooking border stickers to size and applied across the top of the burgundy panel; layered the paper flowers using Glue Dots and finished with a coordinating self adhesive button.
