Inspiration came from my wood fence out back and the vine that is starting to grow up the side.
I started by cutting the origami paper at two different widths and glued them to the top of my Brown Basis Cardstock base.
I left small gaps in between the origami paper to mimic the look of wood slats. Once adhered trim off any over hang. To give my "fence" the finishing touch I placed another small strip of origami paper along the top and bottom.
Using a paper piercer and a ruler I placed holes along the length of my top and bottom 'rails'.
I found small nail head brads and placed them in each pierced hole. Aren't those little brads just so cute?!
I finished off my card with a sentiment, flowers, and a vine cut from Green, Light Blue, Yellow, and Dark Blue Basis Cardstock.
I tied a bow from bias tape and from baker's twine and my card was finished.
This card is for my mother-in-law and I know she will appreciate the handmade touch. Thanks for stopping by the blog today and be sure to spoil the moms in your life on Sunday. :)
Happy Crafting, Nicole
