Paper Pumpkins with Curious Metallic Cardstock

Hello!  Lisa here today and I am so excited to share my first post with you!  As fall is just around the corner my mind instantly went to pumpkins.  When I saw the gorgeous Curious Metallics Cardstock in Mandarin I knew it was perfect to use to make paper pumpkins!

To start you will need to cut strips from your cardstock.  My strips above are measured at 1/2" x 5".  Next I ran my strips through an embossing folder.  This isn't a necessary step, but I liked the texture it added.   For card stock that is already textured, try our  Canvas Textured Adobo Discount Card Stock  Finally I die cut some leaves from a piece of Jelly Bean Green  Pop Tone Cardstock.

You'll then want to stack your strips up and punch a hole all the way through the top of all of them.  It is important that the strips stay together to ensure all of them will be adhered in the same place.  I also recommend using a strong hold punch and or paper piercer for this step.  Then place a Brad through all of the strips and secure it closed.  Next you will begin fanning your strips out in a circle as shown in the photo above.

This final part is a little tricky, because once you have them all fanned out you will need to cup them with your other hand and bring all of the strips together to mimic the way the top part of the pumpkin is adhered.  Once you have them all pulled in you will need to punch another hole through all of the strips and secure with another Brad.  To finish my pumpkin off I added some Green Wireand my Jelly Bean Green leaf.

Ta - da!  These are the perfect home decor pieces for any part of your house!
Happy Crafting and thanks for stopping by!
Lisa
