Watercolor with Distress Inks
Halloween is knocking on our door (trick or treat!) and Fall colors are beautiful and inviting. I wanted to see how well Distress Inks handle a watercolor treatment on Savoy 100% Cotton cardstock. I've used this cardstock with other watercolors, here and here, so I was pretty confident I would continue to love the Savoy!
I die cut the Savoy cardstock and then I stamped this beautiful tree set using several different distress inks.
Then, using the water brush, I activated the ink and created the watercolor look I wanted. I think it turned out great! Traditional watercolor paper may still be necessary for some techniques, but I'm pleased with the Savoy Cotton for this lovely card.
I layered my card onto Basis Dark Red and then on to a Neenah Solar White card base. I stamped and embossed my sentiment on Flavours Gourmet Carmelized Mustard.
This was a simple card and I enjoyed the time watercoloring. I could easily make several of these cards. If you find yourself wanting to make extra holiday cards in the next month or so, we would love to encourage you to send them to the Caring Hearts Card Drive (visit the link to find out all the details!).
