Valentine's Day Gift Bag/Box ...

Good morning! Ruza here to share a Valentine's Day Gift Bag/Box that I created using one A6 Pop-Tones Blue Raspberry Envelope, Pop-Tones Blue Raspberry cardstockCrate Paper Hello Love 6x6 Paper Pad, and 1/4" Ivory Polyester Satin Ribbon.

Some of the tools I used to make the Gift Bag/Box.
I saw a video during the holiday's on How to Wrap Oddly Shaped Gifts and decided to use the same technique shown in the video to create a Gift Bag/Box out of an envelope.

Take one (1) Envelope, and using a scoreboard - score it at 1/2" on both sides of the envelope (using the bottom of your envelope as your guide), and then score the bottom of the envelope at 1/2" and 1" (as shown in the first photo below). Fold the bottom of the envelope at the 1" mark and use a utility knife to cut the seam on the bottom of the envelope (center photo). Next step is to open the bottom of the envelope and fold the corners down while folding the once side up (as shown in the right photo). Once you fold the corners down by hand use a scoring tool to give it a sharp fold.

Next you want to fold each of the bottom sides of the envelope towards each other at the 1/2" mark, and tape the edges together (as shown in the first photo below). Once the bottom is taped together gently open the envelope and fold each side of the envelope at the 1/2" mark by hand to create the sides (middle photo). The last photo shows the 3/4" by 4-1/2" strip I cut from cardboard to put in the bottom of the bag/box for added support.

Next you want to use a pair of scissors to cut each side the envelope flap up to the 1/2" mark (as shown in the first photo below), and then fold them inwards (second photo).

To get a clean line when you fold the envelope closed to create the bag/box I added a bit of Scor-Tape to the each side of the envelope (as shown in the first photo below), and then sealed the top portion of each envelope (middle photo) to create the gusset. Next step is to adhere the 1/2" folds to the envelope with adhesive. The last photo shows you how the bag/box will look before you decorate it.

I decorated the bag/box with Crate Paper Hello Love 6x6 Paper Pad, some hearts that were cut out from Pop-Tones Blue Raspberry cardstock (first photo below), and then I punched some holes in the back to close the bag/box off with 1/4" Ivory Polyester Satin Ribbon (second photo). The last step is optional, as the envelope will seal up nicely just using the glue on the envelope.

I hope you enjoyed today's tutorial and give it a try yourself, and remember that you can use any size envelope to create one of these Gift Bag/Boxes.

All of the A7 Envelopes are on Sale for the month of January so it's the perfect time to stock up, and while you're at the CCS Store make sure you check out the NEW 6"x6" Cardstock Paper Pads that we now carry!

Until next time ... Enjoy!
