Fun with Grunge for Father's Day!

Hello and welcome! It's Gloria with you today, sharing an easy-to-mail, grungy Father's Day card!

I am on a quest for flat cards! Any cards I want to donate to my church, or to other organizations must be FLAT. I also wish to have some on hand to mail myself. Many of the cards I create are very thick, requiring special mailing and postage. Sometimes, I just want something that fits into a standard envelope and costs one stamp!

I created this simple card, by layering the ink, rather than the papers and embellishments! This is an easy card to make in bulk, and it is simple to change the sentiment strip to reflect a different event!

Begin by choosing your color palette and selecting various dye-based inks in that scheme. I chose browns and tans.

Cut Basis White Cardstock to 5 3/8" x 4 1/8". Starting with one of the medium toned inks, stamp the grunge grid several times onto the cardstock. Stamp some splatters in the lightest ink. Stamp more splatters in a medium toned ink.

Stamp the coffee stains and large splatters in the darkest ink. Stamp the large coffee ring in a contrasting brown ink. Continue to layer images until you are satisfied with the result. Sponge the edges of the cardstock with one of the darker inks.

Cut Basis Brown Cardstock to 11" x 4 1/4" and score at 5 1/2" on the long side to make a 5 1/2" x 4 1/4", top-fold card. Attach the grunge panel to the card front.

Add three brads to the upper right corner as shown. Stamp a sentiment onto Basis White Cardstock with dark brown ink. Stamp splatters in lighter brown ink. Trim the sentiment into a banner shape and mat with Basis Brown Cardstock. Attach the sentiment banner to the left edge of the card as shown.

Cut two pieces of Basis White Cardstock to 5 3/8" x 4 1/8". Stamp some of the grunge images onto the corners of the paper with brown ink. Sponge the edges of the white cardstock with brown ink and attach the pieces to the inside panels of the card.
