Washi Masked Wedding Card with Metallic Watercolor and Die Cutting

Hello everyone! This week we are making a simple wedding card using masking tape and die cutting techniques.

I started with Astrobright terrestrial teal and cut it down roughly to the size of the card base (Cougar White, A2).

Then I used thin strips of washi tape to create a geometric pattern with lots of angles.

I used the lighter end colors on the Kuretake Starry Colors metallic watercolor palette - a white gold and light gold. Using a wet brush, I painted the exposed paper and flicked splatter on as well. Then, I heat set with my heat tool.

Once the tape is removed, it reveals a lovely geometric pattern that shines in the light.

I cut "congratulations" out of Neenah solar white card stock twice, using an Avery Elle die set and my manual die cutting machine. One of the pieces, I colored black with waterproof ink so I could stack for dimension.

I used ranger multi medium matte to adhere the black layer first, then the white one on top with a bit of an offset, like a shadow.

I had to trim some little bits off the ends, and then I was all done!

Super simple, ready to use for a wedding shower or any congratulatory occasion in minutes.
