Copic Markers and Spring Flowers

In my heart I know that spring is near, but as I lace up my snow boots and step out into the knee-deep fresh snow here in northwest Montana, I'm reminded that it's still winter! So I decided to crank up the heater in my craft studio and transport myself through seasons with this fresh, bright and cheery project.

I wanted to use minimal supplies for this card, and since Copic Markerswork beautifully on Curious metallic Cryogen White cardstock, that's where I started. I didn't pull any other cardstock into this project, but rather made my own accents with markers.

I stamped the flower and leaves, using a Copic friendly ink. I colored them in and then cut them out. I don't have the coordinating dies for this set, but that's ok, I enjoy detailed cutting. I then colored a strip using two of the coral shades from the flower as well as my own patterned paper. I made the stripes by using the chisel tip of the marker and adding skinny lines with a Zig pen.

There are a lot of colors to work with in the Curious Metallic line, and they are on sale this month. If you haven't ordered the new product line swatches yet, let me encourage you to do so. I love having swatches to reference and these books are so well done.... you need these! :)

Assembly was a breeze, and I added a simple stamped sentiment to finish things off. The elements lie flat, but I did add a few dimensional foam adhesive pieces behind the flower to add a little dimension.

I feel warmer and closer to spring already..... I hope you enjoyed this project! Be sure to check back often as our new Design Team is in place and ready to share their creativity with you starting this month.
