Lots of Love

I think it is safe to say we are all ready for spring weather. Unfortunately, mother nature has other plans. Here in the east coast, we have gotten another snow storm! At least, we can craft and make some beautiful floral cards, right? I have three cards to share with you today featuring Curious Metallic Cardstock.

For my first card, I started by die-cutting a sheet of Curious Metallic Ice Gold Cardstock using a stitched cover plate die and then a scalloped border die. I glued the piece to a folded A2 white base. I stamped the Magnolia flower, watercolored it and then die-cut it using the coordinating die. For the sentiment, I stamped with VersaMark ink on black cardstock and heat embossed with white embossing powder. I used the coordinating die to cut the word "love" and trimmed the remaining. I added the Magnolia and sentiments over the stitched base with foam tape for dimension. I love the "ice gold" look with the flower and dark sentiment.

For the next card, I used the same Curious Metallic Ice Gold Cardstock, die-cut with the scalloped border die. For the center, I used a circle stitched die so I could create a spring wreath. I actually used a washi tape, which I taped onto white cardstock and then fussy cut all the images out. I arranged them around the circle and mounted them with foam tape. For the sentiment, I stamped it on white cardstock with VersaMark Ink and heat embossed in clear embossing powder. Then I used Distress Oxide Fired Brick to blend over it for a resist technique so it would match the flowers. This is a fun way to match sentiments when you don't have matching color cardstock. 

For my last card, I did a similar look as the last card but used Curious Metallic Ionised Cardstock (another favorite of mine!) I love gray with pink so I did the same thing with the sentiment as well. I wanted to keep it simple so added a small flower image in the center (stamped and colored with Copic markers).

The metallic look of the cardstock gives these cards an extra pop, especially the Ionised one. I hope you'll be inspired to use metallic cardstock in your projects, too.
