Happy Birthday Cupcake Cards

Summer just flew by so fast for us! My kids are back in school this week so now I have some time to catch up on some projects that didn't get done over the summer.

Now that I have a little more free time I can get some cards done to add to my collection to have on hand when I need them. The best way to do that is to make a few at one time. You really don't need a lot of supplies to make a fun birthday card. I used Classic Crest Solar White cardstock for the base of my cards which are 5 1/2"X 4 1/4". I love the Classic Crest Solar White cardstock in 110lb I like how it can hold up to being a card base.

For this card I stamped this stack of cupcakes onto  Classic Crest Solar White cardstock four times with Memento black ink. I stamped in Memento ink because I planned on coloring in my images with Alcohol Markers

After I stamped all of the images in I fussy cut all four of the images out. This image has a a matching die but sometimes I enjoy fussy cutting it is relaxing to do and watch some T.V. at the same time. I think fussy cutting was easy it was a very simple image to cut out.

After coloring the cupcake liners in with alcohol markers I wanted the frosting to be bright and full of color. So I ended up coloring them in with a sparkle pen to add some shine. The picture doesn't show the glitter sparkle but in person it is very sparkly.

I adhered the cupcakes off the edge of the card base then trimmed them off and was able to use them on my second card. It looks like I had to color in more then four images but that is all I needed to color in by saving the extra from one card I could get my second card.

To finish both cards off I stamped "Happy Birthday" for one card and "Sweet" "Birthday Wishes" for the second card and just die cut them out with a banner die. I always love sequins so to give my card a finished look I just glued some sequins around the cards.

Thanks for stopping by today!
