Autumn Blessings with Perfect Pearls

I woke up this morning with the idea for this card stuck in my head. I don’t usually use Perfect Pearls because I have an aversion to fine dusts and loose glitters (my desk is right under an A/C vent). But, there was a sheet of Pop-Tone Hot Fudge on my desk that I wanted to use for my project today, and Perfect Pearls works so well on dark Pop-Tones colors!

I quartered the sheet of cardstock, set a piece aside for my card front, and use a couple of the others to die cut several leaves (Stitched Leaves, Lawn Fawn).

To color them, I smooshed the Perfect Pearls Medium ink pad down onto the leaves until they were evenly coated, then added the powders with a small brush that came with the set. I used three different colors and just worked them in on different areas in a random pattern. Then, I used the fluffy brush to clean off any excess powder and blend the colors together.

Note: If you'd like to see the powders in action, I have a short clip of me 'painting' a leaf on my Instagram (link at the end of this post) that you can watch :)

Once I had enough leaves made, I laid them out over the card front to see where they would fit. When I was satisfied with the pattern, I adhered them with foam squares, letting a few hang over the edge.

Then, I flipped over the card front and trimmed off any overhanging leaves with a large pair of scissors. I used these clippings to fill in any empty areas around the edges of the cardstock.

To add the sentiment, I tore a strip of gold vellum and attached it to the card front with some strategically placed foam squares. Then, I die cut the sentiment (Autumn Blessings, Simon Says Stamp) out of a scrap piece of the Hot Fudge cardstock and attached it with some clear tacky gel glue.

And to finish up, I made a card base out of Tan cardstock and adhered the card front with glue tape.

Thanks for reading today! If you’d like to try out this Hot Fudge cardstock with your Perfect pearls, it’s on sale in the shop until the end of the month. Happy crafting!
