Grateful for You

It's hard to believe it's September already. I know the leaves will be changing colors soon here in Michigan. Those thoughts inspired my card for today. I like to send cards on holidays when someone isn't expecting one. Thanksgiving is one of those holidays when I do that. I created these cards with that occasion in mind. Maybe you want to surprise someone with a "grateful" or "thankful" card this autumn. Here's some inspiration.

I used Concord & 9th's leaf turnabout stamp to create the background. But you could create a similar look with different leaf stamps you might already have on hand. I created a 6"x 6" panel with the stamp. Then cut it in half diagonally to get a different look. I adhered the leaf panel to a Stardream Metallic Flame A2 Folded Invitation Card. These folded cards have a gorgeous shimmery look that is perfect for fall cards like this one.

I added some glitter gold washi tape along the border of the leaf panel. Then die-cut some additional leaves that I heat embossed with metallic powders. I popped these up with Double-Side Foam Adhesive. Next I added a die-cut sentiment using Pop-Tone Card Stock in Hot Fudge

My next card uses the other half of the leaf panel. I used the same Stardream Metallic Flame A2 Folded Invitation Card for the base. This time I added copper washi tape where the leaf panel meets the card base. Using a Concord & 9th Leaf die, I cut the two-part leaf from Curious Metallic Card Stock in Cognac and Mandarin. I glued the two different leaves together, slightly off centered, and attached a small bow made from twine.

For this card, the sentiment was stamped on vellum and heat embossed with gold powder. I added a few gold sequins for interest. Then adhered the vellum with Tombow Mono Liquid Glue. This glue dries clear but just to make sure you don't see it, I placed small drops behind the sequins, gold embossing letters and where the vellum is under the leaf. Basically anywhere you won't see it.

Below are the different card stocks I used for these cards. I love making autumn cards. The colors are so rich and vibrant especially when using the orange, brown, and gold colors which are on sale this month at CutCardStock.com.

Thanks so much for visiting. Let me know in the comments if you have any questions or need further explanation about anything. Until next time, inky hugs!
