Autumn Fox + Watercolor Mixed Media Painting

I love foxes, do you? They are the cutest little creatures. Today I thought I’d make an autumn fox card for you with a gratitude theme using Royal Sundance Felt Cardstock.

I really like this cardstock because of the texture. It looks similar to watercolor paper, and since I won’t be using much water while coloring today, it was a perfect choice for the card front.

I stamped the fox (Foxy, CAS-ual Fridays Stamps) with Staz-On in Timber Brown, then added some watercolor pencil in the shaded areas of the image. For a bit of extra sparkle, I added some Gold Gelato to my painting water, then I used a paint brush to activate the color and fill in the fox.

Once it was mostly dry, I fussy-cut both the fox and the butterfly. With a foam pad and embossing stylus, I flipped over the fox and embossed parts of it to add dimension.

Next, I adhered it onto a die-cut scalloped frame with foam squares and attached the frame to a piece of PopTones Hot Fudge Cardstock. I embossed this beforehand with an embossing folder from Lifestyle Crafts with a swirly wind pattern.

Then, all I had left to do was heat emboss my sentiment on a small strip of Hot Fudge cardstock and add it to the top righthand corner of the card. And to finish up, I popped the card front onto a card base made from Royal Sundance Felt Cardstock as well.

Thank you for reading today! Don’t forget to pin this card to your inspiration board on Pinterest, and have a wonderful weekend!
