Brush Lettering Workshop

Hello creative friends! Somehow we are halfway through November already? Craziness! I'm already totally in the holiday spirit. I love, love, love Thanksgiving, but Christmas is on my brain big time!

This past Sunday I held a Brush Lettering Workshop at a darling stationery shop in Geneva, IL. I'm a total introvert, so standing up in front of people and TEACHING is something I'd never thought I'd do! But, I actually really love sharing my lettering passion. And spending creative time with others brings me so much joy.

One essential component of brush lettering is the type of paper you select. This is where CutCardStock comes in! You absolutely have to have a high quality, smooth paper to prevent the brush tip from fraying. You definitely want your pens to last as long as possible! For envelope illustration, I love the Classic Crest Premium Solar White 80# Envelopes.

After learning the basics of lettering, we worked on envelopes. Illustrated envelopes are pretty much my favorite thing to do with brush pens, and holiday time is the perfect opportunity to send out some fun mail! As long as the address is readable, there's really no holds barred as to how far you take your designs!

Here are a few samples that I created for the workshop:

So have some fun with your holiday mailings this year! People will be so thrilled to find some fun in their mailbox. Have a Happy Thanksgiving and stay tuned for our holiday countdown!
XOXO, Erin @eringermandesign
