Valentines Day Shaker Card

Hello, everyone! I hope you're having a wonderful day. I'm so happy to be back on the CutCardStock blog to share my latest card with you.

Valentine's Day will be here before you know it and I thought that it would be fun to make some cards for my friends. Today I'm going to show you how to make a fun and easy shaker card.

You will need:

• Stardream Metallic cardstock in Mars 
• Double-sided adhesive 
• Acetate 
• Sequins and/or small glass beads 
• A2 card base cut from textured cardstock in Beetle Black 
• A sentiment stamped onto a strip of 110 lb Classic Crest Solar White cardstock 
• A sentiment die 
• An embossing folder 
• POW gold glitter paper 
• Foam tape

To begin, you will cut your Stardream Metallic cardstock down to 4" x 5-1/2". Layer it onto a piece of double-sided adhesive. This is optional, but it will make inserting the die cut negatives much easier.

Take your word or sentiment die and cut from the upper part of your red panel, making sure to center everything as best as you can.

Use an embossing folder to give the panel some great texture and interest. I love how beautiful this cardstock is when it's embossed.

Flip the panel over and adhere a piece of acetate over the die cut section.

Apply foam tape to the back of the card, creating a well around the die cut area. You may want to double up your foam tape like I did to get the height you'd prefer. Fill the well with sequins and/or small glass beads.

For this card, I chose black and white sequins and clear glass beads.

After removing the backing from your foam tape adhere a small piece of the POW gold glitter paper over the well for a fun contrast. Attach the panel to your A2 card base.

Using Memento Ink in Tuxedo Black stamp a sentiment onto a strip of 110lb Classic Crest cardstock and adhere that below the shaker window. I absolutely adore the Classic Crest cardstock for my stamping. I highly recommend it.

Attach a few black sequins to the card front, and you're done!
