Engagement Wishes

I love this year's  Pantone Color of the Year,  Living Coral, and  I just had to create something in the coral family. Stardream Metallic Coral cardstock is a beautiful soft coral that's perfect for a variety of cards. Today we're creating an engagement/wedding card.

I started by die-cutting a piece of Stardream Metallic Coral cardstock to 4.25 x 5.5  and a piece of Curious Metallic Cryogen White to 3.75 x 5 inches. Next, I tore off a piece of Altenew Dotted Washi Tape approximately 4.5 long (that's the width of the tape) by 1.5 inches wide.

Using the rule of thirds, place this about 2/3 of the way down the card front and wrap the extra around the back of the Cryogen White panel.

Next, I used Altenew Garden Picks 3D Dies to  cut 4 different flower layers from the metallic coral cardstock. I cut 10 pieces to create 5 two layered flowers. I planned on creating a swag above and below a sentiment.

I needed more than the washi  tape to ground the swag, so I grabbed some black cardstock strips left over from Christmas cards.

I stamped 2  sentiments from Altenew Engagement Wishes with clear embossing ink and heat embossed with  Altenew Rose Gold Crisp Embossing powder. I couldn't believe how well it coordinated with the cardstock!

After embossing, I popped up the strips with Darice Double Sided Foam Adhesive Strips. I love these strips, they were the perfect length to span across the card front and narrow enough that I didn't need to trim them down.

Next, I worked on arranging the flowers and then adhered the layers with a dot of Ranger Multi Medium Matte adhesive. I added a bit of tape runner to the back of them and arranged them above and below the strips making sure to tuck them under the strips a bit.

And that's the finished card! I love how the washi tape peeks through the black strips and the texture of the 3D die cuts.

I hope you enjoyed this card today and feel inspired to  give this design a try. Thanks so much for stopping by!
