Spring in the Air?!

The weather has been nuts around here in Chicagoland! One week is the polar vortex, and the next its spring! With the *temporary* warm temps we had earlier this week, I had spring on my mind, which means FLOWERS and RAIN of course!!!

I've have been needing to update my website's stationery collection, so I thought this was the perfect opportunity. I found some photos of bouquets on Pinterest for inspiration, and started doodling!

My favorite pens for drawing and sketching are the Micron Pens, the Tombow Fudenosuke, and the Pentel Color Brush. I always use a super smooth paper stock for sketching to prevent my pen tips from deteriorating. It also makes for a nice and clean scan!

After I've completed sketches, I scan them into my computer and clean them up in Photoshop. Then I continue in Photoshop or open up in Illustrator, to colorize the artwork.

Once my illustrations are complete, I bring them into Illustrator to put together the layouts and add text.

And of course, I always print on Classic Crest Card Stock and select a Pop-tone Envelope that coordinates! I love my Pop-tones!

Voila! All ready to go. Lots of fun colors to fill these gray days! Happy (almost) spring!
XOXO, Erin @eringermandesign
