3D Die Sparkle & Shine

Do your 3D die cuts look flat? I've got just the project to add dimension, sparkle, and shine to your 3D layering dies featuring Curious Metallic Cardstock.

Curious Metallic Cardstock

While I was tempted to use a rainbow of these luscious papers, I limited myself to 4 Curious Metallic colors - Peacock, MagmaNight, and Cryogen White. Magma is such a unique color! It's like the offspring of shimmery ruby red and coral. Just gorgeous!

All the details for making this card can be found in the video below.

I started by cutting the cardstock with the layering dies. Each of the flowers had 3 layers so that was perfect for the dark colors. I cut 5 flowers, but only used 4 of them and alternated colors for added interest.

For the leaves, I used white for the top layer and black for the underlayer to contrast the flowers.

TIP: When assembling your flowers add glue to the center and curl the petals up for more dimension.

I die cut a piece of Neenah Solar White 80 lb with a 3 x 4.75" rectangle die and arranged the flowers. Before I adhered the flowers, I drew some buds with a fine liner to bring in a touch more black.

I adhered a die cut sentiment, stamped a sub-sentiment, popped up the panel with sticky back fun foam, and adhered it to an A2 sized card base.

That's a wrap! I hope you enjoyed this card and feel inspired to add some shine to your projects with Curious Metallic. Thanks for joining me!
