Summer Circus Party

Who doesn't love the circus?  Why not bring it home with a circus-themed party to celebrate the end of summer?

I love the images that spring to mind when thinking of the iconic, golden days of the circus: lion tamers, tight rope walkers, elephants, popcorn and of course, bright yellow, red and white. What a fun combination. Add a little blue and it's over the (big) top!
Here is the mall ensemble:
End of Summer Circus Party

Invitation
Begin by designing an invitation on your computer. You can use the idea I have here with the basic info in a cone shape. Print it onto Basis White card stock.

After, trim each one with a flat side on the bottom, sides that slant in and a tipped top. You see it in the top photo. Mount each onto 8-1/2x11" Cherry Red Pop Tone that is cut into 3 pieces. (approximately 3-5/8x8-1/2"). I embellished the empty space with a star edged in Silver Stickles.

Party Favor Box
Cover an open box that has flared sides like a Chinese left-over box or dollar bin gift box that I chose. Trace the sides onto Lemon Yellow Pop Tone. The bonus here was that I could easily fit all sides onto one 8-1/2x11" sheet.

Cut the pieces and adhere them to the box, leaving about an inch on the top edge that is not adhered.

Cut red patterned paper into 4x12" strip. Cut the wedge shapes on a trimmer and add them to the sides of the box.

Die cut Large and small scallop from Wild Cherry Red Pop Tone and Small scallop from blue patterned paper.

Add them to the box as shown here. The red goes to the inside of the box and the blue will slip in between the box and the yellow card stock.
With leftover pieces, I decorated a pencil to look like a flag. It's a perfect item to add to the party favor box. Since this is a final summer fling, you might also want to add some other fun school supplies: more pencils, pens, erasers, small pencil sharpener, a few chocolates, you know!
