Embellishing with scraps

Hey all!  Nicole here to share a few ways to use those card stock scraps you have lying around.  After all I can't be the only one who has a bit of a hoarding problem when it comes to my craft supplies ;)  I used the fun bright Pop Tones collection that is currently on sale right now to decorate this birthday gift set.

I started by cutting the bag from 12x12 Basis White Card Stock in 80# cover weight.  It's a great weight without being too heavy.  Once the bag was cut out I cut another piece of white card stock that was slightly larger than the cut out in the bag.

Using Helmar Acid Free Glue I glued down the card stock scraps.

Once the whole base was filled and the glue was dry I carefully trimmed off the excess.
Then glued the panel behind the cut out in the gift bag.
I decided to make the flowers and script stand out a little more and took a Zig Millenium fine tipped marker in black and outlined the whole design.

I added trim along the top with strips of card stock and a wide wire ribbon for handles.

Once the little gift bag was finished I decided that a gift just isn't a gift without a card.  I used the same technique with hearts and attached these to my card base.

I finishing the card off with a printed pink label and some enamel dots.

Such a bright and colorful little set!  I gave the birthday girl her present yesterday and she was thrilled.

Even better, that very small dent I put in my scraps of card stock.  What do you make when your card stock scraps start to pile up?

Thanks for stopping by the blog today!
