I used to make dozens of cards to thank the staff who worked with my daughter, and always included a Gift Card with those cards. So even though my kids are done with school I decided to make a combination Thank You Card / Gift Card Holder in honor of all of those amazing teachers.
As you can see from the pictures below, my sides are not equal in size or design. This was really done intentionally believe it or not. The base was created with Candied Blue Violet (Navy) cardstock, and the panels were created with Carmelized Mustard cardstock.
Once I added the panels to the sides, I used a ruler and my blade to trim the sides, and then cut off the extra from the top. Slits were made on each side of the card so that I could slide the Sheer Organza (Nylon) 5/8" Navy Ribbon thru, and then placed Chestnut Creme (Tan) cardstock over the ribbon with a strip of Carmelized Mustard cardstock to match the cover.
The apples are made with dies from my stash utilizing the Chili Arbol (Red) cardstock, and Chestnut Creme (Tan) cardstock for the stems which I applied distress ink to add color. I used embossing folders to add texture to the apples, and used a Sakura Glaze White (Opaque) Pen on one of the apples. One apple was applied to each of the panels. The third apple was added to the top of the gift card panel with a 3D foam square to pop it up for sliding in the center of the panels.
Now the gift giver can either write a thank you note inside the card and panels, or they can write their note on the back of the gift card holder tag. (Note: I added a layer of white cardstock behind the blue panel.)
The sentiment was cut from Candied Blue Violet (Navy) cardstock.
Until next time ... Enjoy!
