Sticky Note Holders

Looking for an inexpensive thank you gift that's also easy to make?  These handmade sticky note holders are perfect for those times when you just want to let someone know you're thinking about them.  And with the bold colors of Pop Tones Cardstock, they're as pretty as they are useful!

I chose a bright and colorful palette for my sticky note holders to contrast with the beautiful white pearl base.  Flowers and leaves are made from Bubble Gum, Banana Split, and Sour Apple cardstock, while the background is a beautiful Blue Raspberry.

Start by cutting a piece of Classic White Pearl Linen cardstock to 3.25" x 8.5" for each notepad holder (these measurements will create a holder for a standard 3" x 3" sticky notepad).  Then score the cardstock at 1", 1.5", 4.75". and 5.25".

Punch or die-cut a decorative edge in the white pearl cardstock on the end where you first scored at 1".  Try to choose a shallow edge punch or die so that some solid areas remain on the front flap of the holder.

Trim a panel of Blue Raspberry cardstock to 3" x 3" and emboss a decorative pattern into it.  Alternatively, you can use a background stamp and a closely matching blue ink for a subtle tone-on-tone pattern if preferred.

Die-cut flowers and leaf flourishes from Banana Split, Bubble Gum, and Sour Apple cardstocks and ink them with closely matching inks to add a bit of depth and dimension.

Fold the white pearl linen holder base on the score lines and burnish well with a bone folder.  Then, adhere a sticky notepad in the middle using either just the adhesive on the back sheet of the pad, or for a sturdier hold, several strips of Scor-Tape.

Embellish the front of the holder with your embossed and die-cut elements.  First, adhere the Blue Raspberry panel to the center of the front flap with tape runner.  Then, glue your Bubble Gum and Banana Split flowers and Sour Apple leaves to the panel using Tombow Mono Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue.  Tie a piece of twine or ribbon around the short flap to keep the holder closed.

These sticky pad holders are easy to make, so I made a few to have on hand just in case I needed to send a small thank you to someone quickly.  I hope you enjoyed this fun gift idea and thanks so much for stopping by today!  Be sure to visit the CutCardStock store to purchase any of the supplies showcased today and remember that Pop Tones Cardstocks are on sale this month!
