Lisa M. here with a colorful journal to help keep you on track. It can be personalized to meet your needs. Possible uses for this journal could be: a bullet journal; an art journal; or to keep track of kids' activities.
I started with a simple composition notebook that is readily available this time of year.
2. I attached a piece to the front and back with Score-Tape.
3. I attached a 6" piece of white Sheer Organza Ribbon to the back. I placed an ink pen on the ribbon.
4. Then I wrapped the ribbon around the pen and attach the ribbon with more Score-Tape.
5. I cut 2 pieces of Esse Pearl Smooth Latte Cardstock to 6 3/4" x 9 3/4".
6. These were attached to the front and back of the notebook. I added a strip of washi tape for color on both the front and back.
7. For the inside covers, I cut more Esse Pearl Smooth Latte Cardstock into 2 pieces of 6 3/4" x 9 3/4" and 2 pieces 3 1/2 " x 9 3/4".
8. I attached the larger piece on the inside cover (not quite to the binding) .
9. I added a strip of washi tape to the long edge of the smaller piece (this will be the edge of the pocket and makes it easier to see).
10. I used Score Tape on 3 edges of the strip and attached it to the outer edge of the inside cover.

Repeat for the other inside cover.
To create a pocket for the back cover, I started with an 8 1/2" x 11" piece of Esse Pearl Smooth Latte Cardstock.
11. I scored it at 5", 5 1/2", and 6" and folded it on the scored lines. This gives the pocket room to expand.
12. I cut a piece to 8 1/2" x by 4 1/2". I scored the 4 1/2" at 1 1/2", 2" and 2 1/2" and folded on the scored lines. This will become the pocket flap.
13. I attached the flap (use the 1 1/2" section) to the 8 1/2" edge of the pocket. I left about 1/2" between the scored line and the top of the pocket.
14. I cut 2 pieces 1 1/2" x 4 1/2" and scored them at 1/2", 3/4", and 1 1/4". These will be the sides of the pocket.
15. I attached these strips to the sides of the the pocket, keeping them even at the top edges.
16. To close the pocket I punched 4 - 1" circles. In two of the circles I punched a small hole.
17. I used a brad to attach the circle with the hole to the center front of the flap and then pocket.
18. To cover the back of the brad, I attached the other circle with Tombow Multi Purpose Liquid Glue.
19. I tied the string around the brad behind the circle on the flap.
20. To close the pocket, wrap the string around the other brad but do not tie a knot.
21. Then I attached the pocket to the back of the the journal.
I decorated the cover using Basis Cardstock and Pop Tones Cardstock for the crayons. Love the great selection of colors.

Give the journal a personal touch by decorating it for the recipient or yourself. There are so many possibilities.
