Holiday Countdown Series, Day 7

In the spirit of the season, handmade thank you cards are a wonderful way to express gratitude. And in the hustle and bustle of the season, I took some shortcuts that made the process of making thank you cards a little easier!

I started with precut and pre-scored 4-bar (A1 size) cards. I've recently discovered the beauty of 4-bar sized cards... still a great size to add my handcrafted touch, but a bit smaller than an A2 size card, so it feels like less work.  For bulk production cards, or just having a bunch of card bases in my stash, this is my new go-to! With the blank cards already scored, I get the perfect fold every time. (Cards ship flat, then I just fold on the score line when I'm ready to make a card.)

I stamped this awesome plaid background in some festive colors onto Neenah Solar White cardstock, and even added some gold embossing to jazz it up a little bit.  Then, I trimmed down the stamped backgrounds to fit just the way I wanted them to on the fronts of the 4-bar cards.

I wanted to add a sentiment, but didn't have what I wanted in a die. So, I made my own using the Silhouette software and my favorite font. Since I was already cutting three, I just cut a whole sheet of the words so I could have more ready to go. The Silhouette cut beautifully on the Basis Black cardstock.

I thought the card could use a little more sparkle, it is the holidays after all! So I simply brushed over the cut sentiment with a clear, glitter pen. Hey, a girl has to have her sparkle, right?

Luckily, I got the matching envelopes with these perfectly sized blank cards, so now I'm all set to hand out or mail some holiday appreciation!

Thanks for stopping by... be sure to keep checking back as our Holiday Countdown Series continues!
