Paper Treat Basket

Easter is coming up this weekend. Do you do anything special on Easter? when I was a kid we would dress in our dresses, white gloves, and bonnets and head to church. The rest of the day would be eating and being with family.
My kids have to go to school on Friday to make up for a snow day a few months ago so I thought they might like a little treat in their lunch boxes so I made these little paper Easter baskets for them.

I think anything that is little is just more fun and extra cute.

Supplies used:
Basket pattern
Twine

The first thing I did was run my cardstock through my die cutting machine with a wood grain embossing folder.

Before I actually made my basket I found a pattern and made it with some scrap paper to see if I was happy with the size and see how I would assemble the basket. Once I was happy I traced the pattern on to my cardstock then cut it out.

I punched holes using my pattern as a guide. After all of my holes where punched I scored along the long way on both side like in the picture below.

Now all of the hard work is done I did not use any tape or adhesive for them I just used my brads. I knew I had been keeping them for so long for a reason. Take the brad and put it through the circle then the triangle then just alternate sides starting closest to the triangle flap. Lastly through one end of the handle. Then just repeat the same process on the other side of the basket.

I could have been done after that but I always need to add one more thing so I punched a circle out and punched a hole. I wrote Happy Easter and attached with some thread to the handle.

I look forward to seeing my kids faces when the come home from school on Friday!
Don't forget Curious Metallic cardstock in only on sale for a few more days.

Happy Easter
