Birthday Party Favor Tags

Last week we celebrated my baby's 8th birthday (tears!). He is a HUGE basketball fan, so we planned a basketball-themed party with his buddies at our local gym. He and I were surfing Pinterest for party favor ideas and he loved an idea that featured all orange items and had an "Orange you glad you played basketball today" tag, so I went with it! I actually really enjoy putting together party favors. In fact, they might be my favorite part of hosting parties! (My friends think I'm nuts).

So, funny story, my son's name is Weston, partially because I love the letter W. Yes, total typographic nerd here. I wanted to include a W in the tag design, so I thought, "how about a pop of glitter!". Boys deserve a little glitter too, you know. ;)

I printed out and trimmed a W from my home printer. Then I sketched out the Ws on the back side of a sheet of POW Silver Glitter paper. I aligned the edges of the Ws so I could reduce the number of cuts I needed to make.

Next, I designed the tag in Adobe Illustrator with the caption on the front, and simple stripes on the back. I printed the tags on my FAVORITE cardstock to use on my home printer - Cougar White Cardstock

I glued the glitter Ws on the back side of the tag. They looked so fun!!!!

For the bag contents, we went all orange, of course!

All packed up and ready to go. Did the 8 year-old boys notice the fun details? Probably not... LOL! But maybe their mom's did!!!
