Thank You Notes for Kids

Once my son's birthday celebrations were complete, we were faced with the daunting task of writing thank you notes. Now, I was raised to write thank you notes for every celebration, and honestly didn't mind it too much. I think perhaps that is how I developed my love for stationery design. But then I had kids. Boys, to be exact. And the task of writing thank you notes became, well, absolute torture!

Finally, I figured a solution that made ALL of us happy: fill-in-the-blank thank you notes! Hooray! I designed this set for my son Weston, and they saved us hours, literally, of pain and suffering. I had them printed on my favorite paper, the Classic Crest 130# Cover in Solar White.

Now I designed this set to coordinate with my beloved Pop-Tone A2 Envelopes in Lemon Yellow, but I decided this would be a good opportunity to get some lettering practice in, so I stuck with the matching Classic Crest envelopes. Their smooth surface is perfect for brush lettering. I used my Tombow Dual Tip brush pens for these. As usual, I tried to make the envelope art coordinate with the note cards by using the same color scheme and star motif. And of course, I must have dots!

One last funny tidbit - my printer got my orders mixed up an accidentally printed 100 cards. Ha! So Weston will be writing fill-in-the-blank thank yous probably until he goes to college!

So there ya go! Thank you note writing with kids can actually be a little bit fun! Thanks for stopping by today! XOXO, Erin @eringermandesign

  1. So cute! What a great idea to help the kids out! I think many of us adults could use the same kind of help ;)
