Intricate Birthday Card

Happy Thursday my crafty friends! Today I'm going to show you the birthday card I made for my husband. It has been a family tradition that I make a card for the birthdays of my loved ones. I'm hoping in ten, twenty years or even more, they may take these cards out and feel the love I have for them.

I started out with the background. The Curious Metallics in Cryogen White Cardstock has become my favorite when it comes to Distress Ink blending. With two or three similar colors blended randomly on the cardstock, it creates a nice background.

Die-cut the intricate frame using the Stardream Metallic fine gold cardstock. This is my go-to shimmer gold cardstock. The weight is 105lb and the cut is very clean.

My hubby loves traveling, so I picked a pattern paper with world map on it. And then die-cut a piece out that matches with the golden frame.

Heat emboss the sentiment "have a fabulous birthday" in gold and die-cut the piece as a tag.

Raise the frame and sentiment tag using foam tapes. And add two little hearts to the corner of the tag. Last but not least, the handwritten message inside the card is what makes it special. My hubby loved this card.

Thank you for stopping by. Please check CutCardStock on Facebook to get updates on sales and inspirations from the design team. All the red, green and white cardstocks are on sale till the end of this month!

Happy crafting~

Cheers,
Lia
